Description (Service) A non-for-profit group of volunteers dedicated to:
  • the preservation and enhancement of the community's marine history
  • the protection, preservation and promotion of the Imperial Lighthouse tower and the keepers house on Chantry Island
  • hosting annual Marine Heritage Festival, click here to visit Facebook page
  • working with the Propeller Club towards the efforts of the Marine Heritage Society and assisting in maintenance of Pioneer Park, a historic and popular site for picnics, wedding photos and gatherings
Also operate Chantry Island boat tours with training guides, crew and captains who look after all structures and grounds associated with Island Lighthouse. The Island is a Federal Migratory Bird Sanctuary, no pets are allowed on the island.

Volunteers are always needed and welcomed. If any training is required for specific volunteer positions, the cost will be covered by the Club.

Service Details

Hours Propeller Club meets at Walker House on High St every Wed at 4 pm
Dates:
Boat tours run from Victoria Day weekend to Labour Day weekend
Society and Club operate year round
Marine Heritage Festival held on weekend before Civic Holiday

Application Call or email Secretary for any inquiries with Society, Propeller Club or volunteering. Donations can be made online. Anyone is welcome to attend a Club meeting.
